The Cribs to be Honored With Commemorative Pavement Plaque in their Hometown of Wakefield, England
The council of The Cribs' home town of Wakefield, West Yorkshire announced that the band would be honoured with a commemorative plaque. The plaque is to be installed in the pavement of the town center, and will be located near the city's cathedral. This award is said to recognize the contribution of a band that the Wakefield Express newspaper dubbed "Wakefield's greatest ambassadors," having galvanized the now-thriving music scene in the area, and their overall contribution to the cultural regeneration of the city, which this week also saw the opening of the new Hepworth Gallery. The award ceremony will take place on June 8th, in the form of a meet and greet with fans at a location yet to be determined, then a photo shoot with the plaque at the Hepworth Gallery.
