JUST ADDED: Fenway Recordings Sessions #132: White Denim w/ Mazes and The Static Jacks

Fenway Recordings Sessions is pleased to welcome White Denim to their summer line up. The group features James Petralli on vocals/guitar, Austin Jenkins on guitar, Steve Terebecki on bass and Joshua Block on drums. Hailing from Austin, TX, the group recently self-released the 12 track Last Day of Summer, which can be downloaded for free on their website, as a retreat from their ongoing work on their third full length due out May 24th in the US. Noted Gorilla Vs. Bear's Best Rock Band at SXSW four years in a row, their music is an energetic explosion of dub, psychedelic rock, blues, punk rock, soul, jazz and everything in-between.

White Denim will play the Fenway Recordings Sessions at Brighton Music Hall on June 24th, with support from Mazes. Doors open at 8PM, show starts at 9PM. Tickets are on sale for $12 here.

UPDATE:  THE STATIC JACKS have been added to this Fenway Sessions show!

JUST ADDED: Fenway Recordings Sessions #133: Puro Instinct and John Maus w/ Geneva Jacuzzi

Fronted by siblings Piper and Skylar Kaplan, Puro Instinct's hazy, swirling pop is reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac, Bobb Trimble and Lush with a bit more sparkle and smog. The groups tasty first single “STILYAGI,” (7” available for pre-order), features the helping hand of none other than fan and mate Ariel Pink, who took the group on tour last year supporting Haunted Graffiti. With floating background vocals, drum machines and other sonic sparkles surrounding Piper's dreamy voice, the groups full-length debut "Headbangers in Ecstasy" is due out soon!

After making waves at SXSW this year, composer and political philosophy & theory PHD, John Maus's third self-produced album, "We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves" will be released on June 28th. The album features 11 tracks of Maus' brand of vintage-inspired, lo-fi synth pop. Since 2006, Maus has been creating dark 80's-movie inspired jams, and has worked along side Haunted Graffiti's Ariel Pink.

Puro Instinct and John Maus will play Great Scott on Thursday, June 30 as part of the Fenway Recordings Sessions. Doors are at 9PM, show is at 10PM.  Tickets are on sale now for $10 here.

Fenway Sessions Artist, Autumn Defense release new album today

Upcoming Fenway Sessions artist, The Autumn Defense (John Stirratt and Pat Sansone of Wilco), is releasing their fourth full length album, Once Around. Even though John and Pat are well known for their work in Wilco, they've been fronting their passion project, The Autumn Defense, for over a decade now.  On Once Around Stirratt and Sansone mine 70s AM gold and drape it in their decidedly modern sensibilities, resulting in an album that is fresh yet decidedly familiar.

For a limited-time AOL's Spinner.com is offering fans a chance to stream Once Around for free.  Click HERE to listen now before you buy.

Or you can purchase your copy today, straight from Yep Roc Records!

Every purchase of Once Around on CD or LP at the Yep Roc Webshop includes the digital copy of the album instantly in your Stash to start enjoying right away.

Tickets to the Fenway Sessions #110 with Autumn Defense are still on sale and you can get yours here!

The Phoenix covers the highly anticipated, upcoming Juliana & Evan shows

The Boston Phoenix's article titled, "Dando and Hatfield rekindle a musical courtship" covers Juliana & Evan's musical past together, and outlines their careers as successful solo artists.  The article goes on to mention how both musicians inspired each other in the start of their careers and are now re-kindling the artistic process by hitting the road for this current "mini-tour".  Their Nov. 1st show at Great Scott is currently sold out, but tickets are still available for their Nov. 2nd show here.  I suggest you get your tickets as soon as possible because you never know if this duo will couple up on stage again any time soon. Read the Phoenix article on Juliana & Evan here.
